2025 Mardi Gras Throws
Mardi Gras in New Orleans is special to everyone here, regardless of status. It's participatory encouragement has always led to the best parades, parties, and THROWS! Over the last 10+ years, there's been a movement brewing for more sustainable, handmade parade and party lagniappe. It was slow moving for a while, but has recently gained steam in bigger, more popular Mardi Gras organizations.

I've been a part of the Handmade Mardi Gras Movement since 2009. My experience creating parade throws that are fun, memorable, and truly sought after make my little creative heart sing! This year, I am again offering up my services to make handmade throws for your little (or big) shindigs! Below is a little snippet of things I've created in the past and how much they would cost you, as well as a button to make an order.

MAGNETS: $3.50 each
I've been making magnets for parade throws since I started in 2009! These days, I'm mostly doing marbled magnets or hand-drawn fleur de lis magnets on old newspapers. I actually had a few girls follow me on a parade route one year, just to make sure that their friends got a magnet as well.
Important note: these magnets are made with GLASS cabachons so they are not meant to THROW. They can be handed off to people or delivered to them in a safer manner than tossing. I walk in the parades I'm in so these are usually cute "throws" that people can actually use.
I am closing this item out when it reaches a quantity of 500 ordered total, so if you want any, NOW is the time to order.
PAPER BEAD NECKLACES (25 per order - no singles): $105.00

I create paper beads for Mardi Gras mainly via the pulp method. They originally look like a bunch of small, gray-ish round rocks, but when I'm done with them....colorful paper beads with glass seed bead accents! I can paint them a variety of colors or if you just want purple and green beads, I can do that too. Each necklace will be approximately 16 inches. I can create them with the rolled technique as well (most of what is in the photos to the left).
Since they are paper beads, you should be aware that although I seal each bead, they are NOT waterproof. They are water RESISTENT, which means they can get a little damp. They are not meant to be submerged in any liquid.
PRICING: (SOLD IN BATCHES OF 25 ONLY. I am only selling these necklaces in batches of 25 because it is not cost-efficient for me to sell them individually)

Looking for a large Mardi Gras necklace sculpture? I got you covered!
The sculpture that's pictured is approximately 4 feet long (as a "necklace"), up to 8 feet long (as a long string of beads). About 40 paper mache beads per piece for this size.
Each bead is about 4 - 5 inches in diameter and spray painted with the colors of your choosing. Can be sealed for indoors or outdoors.

$300.00 is the price for the size mentioned above. If you'd like something bigger or smaller, contact me and we can discuss a price adjustment.
